The most important thing is to try and inspire people so that they can be great in whatever they want to do. —Kobe Bryant
I was thinking recently about how tough of a start the year was with Kobe Bryant’s tragic death along with the deaths of his daughter and friends. I, with you, was just hurt and crushed—I couldn’t believe it. Mourned someone I didn’t know personally. Athletic discipline and commitment are examples to me in my own walk, and Kobe’s was no different. My favorite and one of the greatest.
Now here we are in a pandemic. Another global upset. COVID-19 has brought mourning of its own—some have seen loved ones pass, while the rest of us long for “normal.” Times are different and we find ourselves having to adapt and live differently. Scan the annals of history and you’ll see living differently is nothing new. But for those of us in the here and now? New, indeed. And that on top of all else we may have been facing in our day to day.
So. . . I wanted to check on all of you. How are you doing? How are you faring through all the quarantining? How’s the homeschooling going? Everybody got enough bathroom tissue? Plenty of masks? Food? How about spiritually? How has God been speaking to you in this season? Through it all, I’m praying for and with everyone.
For me, I’m taking time to listen to God—for what His will is for my life going forward, what He’d have me do in work and calling, how I’m to walk this path, even who needs to be in my life and who needs to go. How I’m to just. . . be.
Thank God for His faithfulness. He’s quickened and positioned me to respond to how He’s moving (see my Back to Basics post). In my work, I’m led to revamp a few things which means an update to this website. I’ll be taking some time away from blogging duties to focus. This is my last post until summer.
In the meantime, my spring blog sponsorship drive is underway, and I invite you to consider becoming a New Day blog patron! You will be acknowledged as such in the summer return. Read details here. Your help enables the work of this blog to keep moving forward!
I thank you all for your readership and support of this blog and vision God has called me to. Stay in touch through my social channels, and please, take care of yourselves. God bless.
