Study to show yourself approved to God… 2 Timothy 2:15

Do you ever just feel when God is making His moves? I do! And it’s important to me (and should be to all of us) to stay motivated and energized and “fed,” if you will, in those seasons, being all He’s calling me to be. I’m always on the lookout for a quote, an article, or certainly a study that point me to God, that remind me of the beauty and good that are in the world, and that lead me to the things that bring fortitude for my journey. I’m calling them motivators, and here’s a list that have gotten me on my way so far in the new year:

Defeating Fear, via Propel Women. Handling this right from the get-go: I ain’t even trying to let fear get in the way of my work, plans, and dreams. This article from Propel gives three ways to combat fear in the face of struggle. (S/N: It’s funny that as I was typing this, I needed to check something in my Merriam-Webster dictionary app. The app’s word of the day just happened to be intrepid…)

Eyes Wide Open: Unlock Your Peace and Joy, Essence Magazine. I came across this article in a copy of Essence in my hair salon, and though not strictly Biblical, it speaks to being real with ourselves about who we really are and what we truly want in life.

Discerning the Voice of God, Priscilla Shirer. My ohh my. This series (and I opted for the video downloads) has been one of the best investments I’ve made for spiritual study and growth. Priscilla does a phenomenal job covering the importance and benefit of establishing intimacy with God and knowing His purpose and plan. I purchased the series last year at launch, and am back with it again this month as my new year delve. Worth it.

And to end my list:

“When you get that chance, take it. Take that leap of faith! You never know where you might land.”

“Don’t give in to the temptation to run someone else’s race. Whether it looks easier or bigger or more fun, trust me, it isn’t. The only race that is right for you is the one that God has called you to.” — Christine Caine

I say Amen to all.
